Womens Shoes Discussions| To women: Are you comfortable with high heeled shoes? | | I like to wear high heeled shoes because it looks better with work outfits, but since I stand for hours during lectures, it's very painful in the legs and feet specially if closed. I bring with me flat sandals so that I could relax my legs and feet during break time. How about you, do you like wearing high heeled shoes? Are you comfortable with them? Thanks for responding and good day![em]happy[/em]
| | Shoes- Feel Good in the Store, Then Not So Much | | Ladies- please tell me I'm not the only one...check this out.I went to the store to buy some shoes. I had a date with my husband and wanted to look smokin' hot. I bought the clothes, and then had to finish off the look with some new shoes, right, because that's what we do.I tried on these brown boots, perfect heel, zipped up the side, awesome pattern and they accented my outfit perfectly. They were the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever put on my feet. I'm struttin' around the store checkin' myself out in every mirror I can find. I'm not arrogant, but you understand, a great pair of shoes makes you feel like the sexiest woman in the world. I bought them and went home to get ready for my date.Fast forward to 2 hours after wearing them. I'm on this amazing date with my husband. I'm tip-toeing around and begging for a pair of sneakers. We're talking blisters, bruises and tears. It even hurt to wakl barefoot, cuz you know I took them off. I need to know...is it the high of buying a new pair of shoes that makes them feel so good or does something happen to change them? Ladies and Shoe Mfg alike: why, why do you tease us at the store with the perfect shoe, only... | |
| | How did you lose your favorite pair of shoes? | | About a year ago, my cat got into my closet and knawed the strap off one of my shoes. I was devasted. It was a really nice pair of shoes. Very comfortable, too. I had to throw both shoes away. Now, I'm wishing I had kept my closet door shut. Who knew that cats could chew shoes. But, at least it gave me an excuse to shop for more shoes. And, that's never a bad thing! How did you lose your favorite pair of shoes? Did they get lost while you were moving from one house to the next? Did your dog get hold of them and chew them up? Did you grow out of them? | |
| | | Do you only buy shoes when they are on sale? | | One of my favorite things to buy on clearance is jewelry. It's the same high quality as it's ever been, but at clearance prices. One of my least favorite things to buy on clearance is shoes. Usually there's a reason they are on clearance, such as they've been previously returned by another customer or have a flaw. Shoe attire is too important to go cheap. At least that's my opinion. So, what's your most favorite thing to buy on clearance? And, what is your least favorite thing to buy on clearance? Do you have any bad experience with the quality of certain clearance items? Do you find that clearance shoes are just as good as the full priced ones? | |
| | What in the world happened to me? | | Have you ever had one of those years when it feels like nothing in your closet matches? Well, that's what I've been going through. Nothing matches. Nothing looks good. For awhile I was the most coordinated person on the planet. There wasn't a shirt or blouse in my closet that didn't match at least two other items. And, shoes matched purses and lipstick matched blusher. I was a walking fashion "Do"! One of those enviable women you imagine seeing on the back cover of Glamour magazine. The good one, not the one with the offending bar across the eyes to hide identity. But, that was five years ago, before I got pregnant, gained 45 pounds, had a baby and grew out of all my stylish slinky clothes. For awhile after my baby was born I went through my day fooling myself that I could still be stylish even while being a full time hands on mom. After awhile, though, everything I owned had been ruined by baby pee and spit up, and my sexy stylish clothes had been consigned to a "donation" box for others who could actually fit into them, and then I gave up on being stylish.Nowadays, I am lucky if my shirt matches the wall, much less my pants. I'm a lot less focused on my personal... | |
| | What type of shoes can be put into the washing machine? | | For years I've heard that you should put a canvas tennis shoe into the dryer with a load of towels to help them dry faster. But lately, I've been wondering if it's possible to put tennis shoes or other type of natural material shoes into the washing machine to clean them. I haven't worked up the nerve to try this yet, cause I'm afraid that it might mess up my washing machine. During the rainy season, our little kid gets lots of dirt and mud on her shoes and it's almost impossible to clean off with a cloth. Has anyone ever tried putting tennis shoes into the washing machine? Or, do you think this could mess up the machine and make it stop working? Are there specific types of shoes, i.e. canvas or boat shoes that could be safely cleaned in a washing machine? Would appreciate some suggestions on cleaning tennis shoes if putting them into the washing machine is not a good idea. Thanks for the suggestions. | |
| | Kinky Boots | | LOL and no its not a porn movie....I watched it yesterday with the kids and its a really good movie! Here is the basic description of it"Following the unexpected death of his father, the hapless Charlie Price (Joel Edgerton) feels obligated to take over the family's business: a shoe factory located in the industrial town of Northhampton. Once there, Charlie discovers that the factory is in dire straits. Globalization has made the business uncompetitive. To help the factory survive, Charlie thinks up a plan after meeting Lola (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a London transvestite limping because of a broken heel: his factory could manufacture boots for that niche market. In spite of personal problems with his fiancée (Jemima Rooper), labor issues at the factory, and anti-gay/anti-transvestite prejudices, Charlie - with Lola's help - manages to create the right female boots for the right male market. Then, it's off to the Milan Shoe Fair to discover if those sensuous boots will be accepted by the fashion establishment. But will Lola, now angry at Charlie's infantile prejudices, show up? And if she doesn't, who the hell will wear them boots on the... | |
| | Those sneakers saved my life! | | Have you ever had a pair of tennis shoes or sneakers that you just couldn't live without? I have!About six years ago, I purchased a new pair of sneakers. Very costly. Unfortunately, I didn't like the way they cramped my little toe, so I tossed them in the back of the closet. For three years that pair of sneakers followed me around from home to home. But, when I got pregnant, and had to throw out my other shoes because they no longer fit, I went back to the sneakers.Literally, these sneakers saved my life. They turned out to be the only shoes that could support my ever expanding waist line and keep me standing up-right. I tried flip-flops and other casual shoes and almost fell over several times. Without those shoes, I would have been house-bound. And, even after gaining forty five pounds during my pregnancy, I could walk all day, in comfort, as long as I was wearing my favorite sneaks! It's funny how something so simple as shoes can be your life-line to the world.Today me and my daughter (now 3 1/2) were digging through the closet and we found those old shoes. And, all the memories came back.Guess it's time to dust them off and put them back to work... | |
| | Is it important to you to own branded goods?? | | I know how important self image is.. mostly everyone believes in having a great self image to make a good impression. But how important is it to dress yourself in the season's latest, deck yourself in branded clothes from top to toe??
I believe as long as you know what is right for your body, how nice it looks on you, the fit of the clothes, you can pull off wearing cheap and affordable clothes while still looking like a million bucks.
However, there are people out there splashing out $15000 on a BAG. A BAG.. That just holds your stuff.. you can't feed your kids with it, it doesn't drive you anywhere.. And worse yet, these people are willing to be on waiting lists.. and someone told me that if they are willing, they pay compensation to whoever is ahead of them in that list, to take their place. So in addition to paying thousands and thousands for that particular item, they pay thousands as well to those other people whose place they want to take over.
Is it necessary? For those out there who can afford all these luxuries, is it really important?? Because i do know some people who can really really afford whatever their heart desires, but still maintain a normal lifestyle....
